The Tenant Union is a unit within the Office of the Dean of Students and a part of Student Affairs at the University of Illinois. From outside the classroom learning experiences, to physical and emotional wellness, leadership opportunities, global awareness, safety, fun, and career preparation, Student Affairs supports all aspects of student life at Illinois.


Tanisha King-Taylor - Director

Tanisha is a native of Chicago, IL and is a two-time Illinois alumna having graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s in Sociology and in 2008 with a Masters in Social Work. She has been actively engaged in student life at Illinois for the better part of the last decade having served the Illinois Tenant Union, Office of Minority Student Affairs, and the Department of Speech and Hearing Science. Tanisha also worked with students and community members as a Counselor and Group Facilitator at Cognition Works, Inc., in the greater Champaign-Urbana community. Tanisha enjoys educating students on their rights as tenants and helping them obtain transferrable life skills. In her spare time (which is a rarity), Tanisha enjoys reading.
Brittany Jordan Glenn - Program Manager

Brittany is a native of Champaign, IL and also received her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 2012. While attending the University of Illinois Brittany served as a Desk Clerk at PAR, and also served as a research assistant for Senior Odyssey conducted through the Beckman institute, and as a research assistant for Dr. Espelage, conducting research about educational psychology and bulling. Brittany enjoys informing students about making smart choices when it comes to housing. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her Glenn family, cooking, watching movies, shopping, and soon working on her Masters Degree.
Matt Cronin - Media and Communication Specialist

Matt is a graduate student from Aurora, Illinois. He is currently pursing joint Master's degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering. Matt also graduated from the University of Illinois in 2013 with a Bachelor's of Science in Architectural Studies. Over the past 5 years Matt has been involved with Colleges Against Cancer, serving as co-event chair during the 2012-2013 academic year. In his spare time he enjoys watching sports, and relaxing with his fiancé.
Kaylin Cobb - Housing Counselor

Kaylin is a transfer student from Country Club Hills, Illinois. She is pre-law double majoring in History and Political Science. She has been a Housing Counselor with the Tenant Union for almost one year and enjoys aiding students in making an informed decision about their renting choice. She is involved on campus with a registered student organization “Black Girls Rock”. In her spare time she enjoys sleeping, a lot, and spending time with her family. Kaylin is the oldest of 5 children.
Jessica Levin - Housing Counselor

Jessica is a graduate student from Chicago, Illinois. She is pursuing her Master's degree in Social Work with a Health Care concentration. She also graduated from the University of Illinois in 2014 with a Bachelor's of Social Work. In the 2013-2014 academic year Jessica helped found a new RSO called Research as Students at Illinois, which focuses on helping undergraduate students become more knowledgable and aware of research opportunities. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, hiking, and relaxing at home.
